Traffic & Parking Guide

This is the single biggest traffic weekend of the year on Pensacola Beach. Plan your route, your parking, and your exit before you go — not after.

Bob Sikes Bridge

Expect record congestion

The Bob Sikes Toll Plaza is the main gateway onto Pensacola Beach and typically sees its heaviest traffic of the year on air show Friday and Saturday. Ongoing gateway/toll-plaza construction work can add further lane restrictions — arrive early, and build in extra time on both ends of the trip.

Other Bridges & Closures

Check closer to show day

In 2026, the southbound Navarre Beach Bridge lanes closed from 4–6 p.m. on show Saturday to manage traffic. Whether similar closures happen on July 17, 2027 will be announced closer to the show — we'll post them here.

Free Trolley & Bus

Leave the car, take the trolley

The Santa Rosa Island Authority runs free trolley and bus service on show days, driven by ECAT.

Access-road stops (Grand Marlin, Radical Rides/Laguna's, Quietwater Beach, the Boardwalk)Suspended until 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday due to expected congestion, then resume regular service until midnight.
BoardingRiders can board only at designated trolley stops — check the SRIA trolley page for current stop locations.

After the show, board the first available trolley or bus back to your car — riders who wait for a later departure should expect significantly longer waits as the crowd clears the island.

Where to Watch

Best beach viewing spots

Casino Beach

The official show center. This stretch of beach gets the best sightlines for the main aerobatic box and fills up early on Friday and Saturday.

Quietwater Beach

A short walk from Casino Beach with a similar view and slightly more room to spread out.

Waterfront restaurants & hotel balconies

Several beachfront restaurants and hotels host viewing parties with food and shade — a good option if you'd rather not claim sand early.

Water Safety

Beach flag warning system

Water access closes entirely during civilian acts and the Blue Angels performance. Outside of that, check the flags before you swim.

Rules of the beach

Drones and kites are strictly prohibited once flight demonstrations begin — a drone spotted within five miles of the show box can halt the performance entirely and lead to felony charges. Glass containers aren't allowed on the beach, and dogs are only permitted at designated dog beaches, on leash.
